Color Stability of Pediatric Restorative Material Over Pediatric Drug Formulation

چکیده
Aim: To investigate the color stability of light-cured (LC) restorative material in different pediatric drug formulations. Method: Two distinct materials, specifically LC resin and glass ionomer cement (GIC), were employed to create 88 disc-shaped specimens. These comprised 44 specimens fabricated from each material. Each specimen had a diameter 5 mm height 3 mm. conduct experiment, randomly allocated into four experimental groups, containing 11 made This division was accomplished through use stratified random sampling method. The five groups their respective liquid medications as follows: Group 1 - montelukast sodium levocetirizine dihydrochloride syrup, 2 cefixime, valproate, 4 metronidazole. ensure thorough exposure medications, all samples underwent two-minute agitation cycle, which repeated every 12 h over course one week. Following immersion period, assessed using spectrophotometer. data obtained measurements subjected statistical analysis one-way variance (ANOVA), followed by post hoc test. aim determine whether significant differences observed among studied. Results: mean values standard deviations ΔE calculated. highest (4.70 ± 1.89), (4.04 2.10). Conversely, lowest (3.23 2.02) (3.24 2.31). calculated p-value 0.298, F-value 1.269. Conclusion: study concludes that both composite GIC, are susceptible discoloration. Sodium valproate exhibited greatest staining effect on materials. cefixime least impact composite, whereas GIC.

Effects of Different Pediatric Drugs on the Color Stability of Various Restorative Materials Applicable in Pediatric Dentistry
Background. The chronic recommendation of pediatric drugs could exhibit erosive and cariogenic problems. Objective. To evaluate the effects of different pediatric drugs on the color stability of various restorative materials. Methods. Five specimens (1 mm × 3 mm) were prepared and immersed in ten different pediatric drugs and agitated every 8 hours daily for 2 min up to 1 week. Between immersio...
متن کاملColor Stability of Restorative Resins
The color stability of seven commercial composite resins, an unfilled resin, and three glazes was studied under conditions of accelerated aging by reflection spectrophotometry and visually with Munsell color tabs. After aging for 900 hours, most of the resins had lower values of luminous reflectance and excitation purity and higher values of dominant wavelength and contrast ratio compared to va...

Purpose The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) presents this guideline to assist the practitioner in the restorative care of infants, children, adolescents, and persons with special health care needs. The objectives of restorative treatment are to repair or limit the damage from caries, protect and preserve the tooth structure, reestablish adequate function, restore esthetics (where...
متن کاملColor stability evaluation of aesthetic restorative materials.
Color match is one of the most important characteristics of aesthetic restorative materials. Maintenance of color throughout the functional lifetime of restorations is important for the durability of treatment. This characteristic is not constant among dental materials. The purpose of this research was to assess the color stability of five aesthetic restorative materials when immersed in a coff...
متن کاملPoor formulation information in published pediatric drug trials.
OBJECTIVE The International Conference on Harmonisation Steering Committee recommends that appropriate formulations be used in pediatric drug trials. However, a lack of formulation research and/or economic constraints means that appropriate formulations are not always used. It is important for investigators who report the results of pediatric drug trials to provide sufficient information on the...
